About this site

Welcome to my web page. I've had this up since April 2001, just because I like having a place online to put writing, links and photos. More and more I'm realizing that instead of my web page being about what I want to show other people, I use it as a way to store things that I want to remember.

This entire site was created by hand using only text editors (usually Emacs). There are a few reasons for this: because I wanted to learn html, because I didn't trust generated html and I haven't wanted to take the trouble to find a good free html generator, but mostly because this way I can log in to my web host and edit my site from anywhere. I've tried to keep my formatting minimal so that the site will be readable on all screen sizes and browsers.

Older content

Most of the content on here is pretty old now. Old or new, material gets added, changed and deleted without explanation. If you ever want to see something again that I've taken off, feel free to ask for it. I have the site on version control so I may be able to pull old versions back up.
